TASTING LIFE

ON THE FRONT PORCH WITH YOU!

TEA TASTINGS

How many flavors of tea have you tasted?  Do you know what oolong tea is?  It's my favorite!  Are there any herbs or fruits that you like better than others?  Are there any flavors that you don't like?  Fill out a questionnaire and then we can order samples to taste test!

TEA TRYSTS

A tea party is a tea party.  Actually, tea parties in the Unites States seem to be quite stilted, if you are of female origins and either young or old you fit into the stereotype.  But, that's not how most of the world functions!   Want to explore some tea parties that surpass your expectations in both theme and guests?

TEA IN THE TERROIR

Tea is the dried leaves and buds from the camellia sinensis plant.  It was believed to have fallen into a Chinese emperors cup thousands of years ago and, thus, the drink was born.  Many years later the English found tea plants in India....  Just like wine, tea takes on the flavors of its local environment, whether deeply affected by humans or not.  Explore how these drinks and other beverage/food items are grown in the natural realm before turning into what we consume.

EXPLORE THE PORCH....

How do you combine gardening, tea, and a love for learning to create a dream business?  It takes time but starting with seeds is a good thing.  I gained my tea specialist certification in 2014 while still living on a farm in colorful Colorado.  Upon moving to New Orleans I worked in a children's party tea room.  I taught kindergarten during the COVID pandemic.  I've now worked in a retail greenhouse for 4+ years learning how the climate, bugs, diseases, and more affect plants' growth.  These experiences have taught me several things.  I'm not just going to throw a city dweller onto a farm or into a greenhouse and expect plants to pop up or even stay up.  Gardening is a lot of work and an ever-learning experience.  So, where to begin?  Hmmm... why don't we find some middle ground on the front porch?

What do YOU think?

Petals in Tea

Keyanna Johnson

"Victoria has given my husband and I very helpful advice on how to take care of our garden.  I can tell she truly enjoys what she does and is very well informed about local and general horticulture.  She also makes great tea combinations that I have personally found unique and delicious!"
"But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him."  Hebrews 11:6
